As you learned in lesson 7 of this tutorial (Wi-Fi, Security, and General Settings), there are lots of ways to set up your device so it suits your individual needs. There are ways to add a more personal touch, too; for example, by choosing your own wallpaper, or changing the sound effects.

In this lesson, we'll take a look at the following items in your device's settings. Remember: you can access Settings by tapping the icon on your Home screen.

As you collect more and more apps (including those that are built-in, and those that you download from the App Store), you might start thinking of ways that you want to manage or organize them. As you probably know, the Home screen contains an icon for every app on your device. That means it can get pretty crowded, especially if you've had your iPad for a while. Here are some tips to help you customize your Home screen, so your favorite apps are always easy to find. To see these techniques in action, check out the video at the top of this page.

• Rearrange your icons by touching and holding any app on the Home screen. When the icons begin to shake, drag and drop them wherever you want (even on or off the dock) to change their arrangement. To move an icon to another screen, drag it to the left or right edge. When you're done, press the Home button on your device to save your changes.

Media and Entertainment

There are so many ways to view and interact with media on your device. This includes everything from music and videos, to news and entertainment—even games that you can play online with your friends. The iPad makes all of these things fun and accessible with the apps below.

• iTunes for downloading music, movies, TV shows, and more
• Videos for watching movies, TV shows, and other visual content
• Music for listening to music and other audio content
• And other tools like Game Center, Newsstand, and iBooks
